Terms

Last updated: August 5, 2026

What you're buying

A Walkie licence is a perpetual, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to run the app on Macs you own or control — a one-time $39 purchase, not a subscription. There's no recurring charge, and the licence itself doesn't expire.

Your licence key

Your licence key is personal to you. Please don't share or publish it — a leaked key may get deactivated. Activation limits (how many machines a single key can be active on at once) are governed by Lemon Squeezy's licence settings; check your purchase confirmation for the current limit.

Updates

Free updates to the current major version of Walkie are included with your licence. If a future major version ships, it may be offered as a separate paid upgrade — no such version is announced or planned at this time, but we want to be upfront that "one purchase, forever" isn't a guarantee across major versions.

Permitted use and restrictions

You may install and use Walkie on Macs you own or control, for your own personal or commercial work. You may not:

  • resell, sublicense, or redistribute Walkie or your licence key to anyone else;
  • redistribute the app itself, or the third-party binaries it bundles, as a standalone product;
  • reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble Walkie, except to the extent applicable law expressly permits despite this restriction.

Third-party components

Walkie bundles whisper.cpp (MIT licence) for on-device transcription, and is built on Electron and Apple's system frameworks. Each of these components carries its own licence, which continues to apply alongside these Terms. A full list of bundled components and their licences ships with the app.

The free tier

Walkie's free tier — 7 screen recordings and 10 screenshots, lifetime (two independent counters, no daily reset, no account required) — is offered as a courtesy so you can try Walkie before buying. Its limits, or its availability, may change in future versions.

No warranty

Walkie is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind, express or implied — including, without limitation, any warranty that it will be error-free, uninterrupted, or fit for a particular purpose. Use it at your own judgment.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent the law allows, Roberto Ercole's total liability to you arising from your use of Walkie — however it arises — is capped at the amount you actually paid for your licence. Neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

Lemon Squeezy is the merchant of record

Your purchase is processed by Lemon Squeezy, acting as merchant of record. Lemon Squeezy's own terms of service apply to the transaction itself — payment, invoicing and tax — alongside these Terms, which govern your use of the software: lemonsqueezy.com/terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time; the "Last updated" date at the top reflects the current version. Continuing to use Walkie after a change means you accept the update.

Who you're contracting with

Walkie is sold by Roberto Ercole, operating as a sole proprietor in Ontario, Canada.
